Mandatory Continuing Legal Education

The Santa Barbara County Bar Association sponsors Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) programs to assist members in keeping up with developments in the law, meeting continuing education requirements, and learning about new practice areas. As a State Bar approved provider of continuing legal education, the SBCBA offers a series of seminars and workshops to specifically and creatively meet your legal education needs, including the crown jewel of local legal education and networking, The Bench and Bar Conference.

The Conference provides judges and lawyers with an opportunity to earn 5-6 hours of CLE credit, including the often difficult to obtain ethics, bias, and substance abuse units, and to informally educate each other in an effort to improve the administration of justice in Santa Barbara County.

Members receive a discount on SBCBA-sponsored CLE programs. The SBCBA strives to make each program relevant to the attorney and at a reasonable fee. Check the calendar of events to discover our latest offerings.
