Zealous Representation of Noncitizen Criminal Defendants: Part 2
Removability, ICE cooperation, and what to expect in state prison & ICE custody
Date: June 8th, 2026, at 12:00 PM
Venue: Zoom (link provided after registration)
MCLE Credit: 1.0 Hour (General)
This is the second of this mini-series building on the first in April, but you can sign up for this one even if you missed there first. We will continue discussing grounds of removability, including common California charges. We will also explain when law enforcement can lawfully cooperate with ICE and what your client can expect if they’re sentenced to state prison or detained in ICE custody. Especially in today’s climate, it is even more imperative to have a thorough understanding of the consequences your client can face, ways to avoid those consequences, and ensuring clients are making informed and knowledgeable decisions about their criminal cases.
