The SBCBA Employment Law Section Presents:“Mediating the Employment Law Dispute”
When: January 30, 2019, 12:00 noon
Where: Santa Barbara College of Law, Room 1, 20 E. Victoria Street
MCLE: 1 Hour MCLE Type (General)
Speaker(s): Henry Bongiovi, Esq., Bongiovi Mediation. Mr. Bongiovi is an AV-Rated attorney and mediator in Santa Barbara operating a business law and civil litigation practice, including personal injury and medical malpractice, with an emphasis on employment and labor law, which includes representation of both management and employees.
About the Event: There is no question employment-related litigation is on the rise. Mediation has been shown to be an effective means of dispute resolution. It provides a forum and an atmosphere in which parties gain understanding, are heard, become understood and work together to explore options for resolution. By resolving disputes in mediation, parties determine for themselves what is important and, ultimately the outcome of the situation. Employment disputes present peculiar challenges for the mediation process. Not only is the law complex and sometimes surprising for the parties, particularly employers, but the disputes often relate to interpersonal relationships and communications that must be considered if a resolution will be reached.
In this 1 hour MCLE presentation, Henry Bongiovi, a highly-regarded employment lawyer and ADR neutral, brings his wealth of experience from both fields together to help us better understand these unique challenges of mediating an employment dispute, as well as providing the best practices for participating in this process with an aim to make it as productive as possible.
Price: $35.00 SBCBA Members/$40.00 Nonmembers. Lunch will be included.
Contact Information/R.S.V.P.: Alex Craigie, Esq., the Law Offices of Alex Craigie. Alex@Craigielawfirm; (805) 845-1752. Please RSVP by January 28th, if lunch is desired.
