Kevin W. Brown, M.B.A. is President of “The Specialist in Law Firm Marketing,” providing full-service marketing support for law firms. Since founding the firm in 1991, he has worked with hundreds of firms, from the nation’s largest firms to small local practices, in designing and implementing effective marketing programs. He has an M.B.A. degree in marketing and a B.S. in economics and management. Mr. Brown has a unique perspective on business management and the marketing process. Mr. Brown is author of over 200 articles and speaks statewide at Bar events and nationally at conferences.

Speaker: Gregory Francisco Gillett, JD, EdD
Mr. Gillett is the managing attorney for Gillett Law, APC, a boutique law firm with offices in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. He has a broad litigation practice in civil, education, family, criminal and probate matters. He has served as a mediator and arbitrator and is currently a Cannabis Hearing Officer for the County of San Luis Obispo. Mr. Gillett has litigated numerous matters via Zoom and other VTC platforms and has recently taught several trainings on the subject. His technical background includes serving as the Deputy Commander of Cyber Operations for the California Guard and logistics officer for the Guard’s Legal Support Command. He is currently the chair of the Family Law Section of the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association, where he also serves as the de facto Director of Technology and Other Life Skills.

He has presented programs on legal tech and e-discovery before numerous legal, IT, records, and compliance audiences. Michael is Director of Marketing with Trellis Research, a legal analytics platform that uses AI and machine learning to provide litigators with strategic legal intelligence and judicial analytics.
Nicole Clark, CEO and founder of Trellis Research, is a business litigation and labor and employment attorney
who has handled litigation in both state and federal courts. She is licensed to practice law in three states, and
has defended corporations and employers in complex class action and wage and hour disputes, as well as
individual employment matters ranging from sexual harassment to wrongful termination. Nicole is committed to helping lawyers leverage technology ethically to gain a competitive advantage and achieve a more favorable outcome for their clients.
